Gulmarg Gondola

The wonderful attraction in Gulmarg is the Cable Car ride, which is also known as Gondola Lift/Ride (1 km west of Gulmarg’s bus stand).The ride is divided into two sections – Gulmarg to Kongdori and Kongdori to Apherwat. The Gondola passes over the pine forests, starting from a height of 2690 m above sea level and rise up to 3090 m while reaching Kongdoor.

St Mary's Church

A monument of the British Rule in India, St Mary's Church is a religiously important church in Gulmarg. The construction of the church dates back to 150 years and was done by famous British architectures in the construction style of British churches.

Baba Reshi

Shrine of Baba Reshi, dedicated to Muslim scholar and saint Baba Payam-Ud-Din (RA), is a highly revered religious attraction around the valley of Gulmarg. This tomb was built in 1480. Baba Reshi was an important courtier during the period of King of Kashmir Zain-ul-Abidin .The five century old shrine was constructed with the architectural styles of Persian and Mughals.

Alpather Lake

High up in the Apharwat peaks of the Himalayas, lies the frozen Aplather lake which makes for a best picnic spot near Gulmarg. This stunning natural attraction is embraced by rocky mountains and meadows of wild flowers. The famous Alpather lake remains frozen for almost all months of the year.

Ningle Nallah

This beautiful stream named as Ningle Nallah is situated close to Gulmarg at a distance of 10 km. It gets its water from the melting ice caps of the Alpathar Lake and Apharwat Lake in the summer season. It then flows into the River Jhelum, close to Sopore.

Khilanmarg

Khilanmarg is a small valley about a 6-km walk from the Gulmarg bus stop and car park. The meadow, carpeted with flowers in the spring, is the site for Gulmarg’s winter ski runs and offers a fine view of the surrounding peaks and over the Kashmir Valley. It’s a 600-metre ascent from Gulmarg to Khilanmarg.

Gulmarg Golf Club

Gulmarg Golf Club, established in 1911, was a summer resort for the British and they started playing Golf in the vast expanse of majestic greenish grounds of the Club. This has been credited as the highest green golf course all over the country.This majestic golf club offers an 18 hole and 72 par golf course facility for its privileged visitors.

Rani Temple

The Shiva temple was actually the royal temple of Dogra kings of Jammu and Kashmir.Also known as “Rani Temple” or “Maharani Temple”,this is situated on a small hillock in the centre of Gulmarg.The unique thing about this royal temple is the fact that it can be seen from all the corners of Gulmarg.The Maharani temple also known as Mohineshwar Shivalalaya was built by Mohini Bai Sisodhia, the wife of the erstwhile ruler of Kashmir Maharaja Hari Singh (the last king of Kashmir) in 1915.
